SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In December 2018 the Town purchased a 255 acre parcel of land located on the northwest corner of Erie Parkway and Interstate 25. The Town envisions this property to become the “Gateway” to the community in future years.
Due to the extensive mining in the area, Town of Erie staff has requested Lithos Engineering assist in evaluating this parcel of land. The scope of the project will be broken into three tasks (the detailed scope of services is attached to this agenda item):
Task 1 - Literature Review and Site Reconnaissance
Task 2 - Geotechnical Investigation
Task 3 - Recommendations Report
When the study is complete, Lithos will provide a concise report presenting their findings and recommendations for site development as it relates to the risk of coal mine subsidence potential. This information is important to have whether the Town retains ownership of the property or sells it to facilitate development.
