SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Parks & Open Space Division performs work in a variety of areas that require equipment that is versatile, efficient and easy to operate. A purchase of a Dingo Compact Utility Loader provides the Parks & Open Space Division the ability to complete an assortment of tasks that may either typically have to be done by hand or require the rental of an equivalent machine for up to four weeks a year at the cost of $3,520 (plus attachments when required), if a unit is available. Other advantages include:
- This unit comes with three attachments, including an auger, trencher and bucket.
- The Dingo unit has a light footprint and is gentle on native grasses, turf, and other surfaces. Heavier equipment can cause damage to these surfaces, necessitating additional repair costs and staff time.
- Uses include, but are not limited to: construction and maintenance of natural surface trails, installation of fences and signage, digging, grading, trenching and lifting/hauling operations.
- The Dingo is an efficient alternative to hand labor and skid-steer loaders due to its ability to operate in tight/narrow areas, minimizing the impact to the public.
- Additional attachments can be utilized to perform a number of other tasks as required.
