SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town of Erie has renewed its contract with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem) to provide medical insurance to Town employees and their dependents for 2018. The Town engaged with Alliant/Mesirow Financial Services, Inc. to obtain renewal proposals for health insurance for employees. Staff reviewed the proposals from Alliant/Mesirow Financial Services, Inc. and determined that the Town should renew its contract with Anthem for 2018. The cost for medical premiums were determined and budgeted for in the 2018 budget process.
The 2018 Operating Budget includes funds to pay for this employee benefit.
