SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

In 2023, staff started repairs to the Erie Community Center main parking lot with the allotted budget. The remaining work has been deferred to 2024.

The 2024 1st Supplemental budget includes remaining repairs to the main parking lot to correct failed asphalt, excessive cracking, and provide seal coating. The cracks in the main lot expanded over the winter and are safety concerns for ECC patrons causing trip hazards.  These will only get worse over the next winter if not repaired now. This is the highest volume parking lot for visitors. Our paving consultant advises that investing in this work now will prevent more expensive milling and repaving the entire lot within five years.
