SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The 2016 operating budget does not have funds for emergency or unforeseen items. Therefore it is necessary for us to request these additional funds for the following maintenance items at the Erie Community Center.

During Staff's routine preventative maintenance inspections, facilities staff came across multiple issues at the Erie Community Center.

The Heating Ventilation and Air Conditionings (HVAC) equipment has been in service for the last 8 years, running 7 days a week 24 hours a day, therefore it is quickly approaching it life expectancy. Staff inspected all of the Roof Top Units (RTU) which operate the HVAC. Staff is recommending that certain components on two of the RTUs be repaired and/or replaced in order to extend the life of the two RTUs.

After inspecting the Domestic hot water service for the center, Staff has identified that the system is in need of a new pump and ball valves. In order for this work to be performed, the water service to the building will need to be shut off after regular business hours.
