Body

SUMMARY/KEY POINTS

Due to recent developments in participant commitments, Northern Water Conservancy District (Northern) wants to extend the existing 2025 Interim Agreement and funding to allow time for participant input before requesting a new agreement from participants.

A major participant in NISP said they intend to exit the project. This affected the economies of scale of the project. Participants are still working through the details and need more time. Hence the extension request.

The Town has been engaged in the NISP project for more than 20 years. It is a critical component of the Town’s water supply for future growth and flexibility of growth.

BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

This is an extension of the 21st Interim Agreement Council approved earlier this year. It is a time extension only and does not commit the Town to additional funds.
