SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the June 22, 2021, Board of Trustees meeting Resolution 21-091 was approved awarding a design contract to Topographic for designing the Lagoon conversion to Water Quality Pond project.
A requirement in the predesign phase was for the consultant to prepare two conceptual designs with exhibits showing environmental education opportunities and the benefits of a stormwater quality pond. These exhibits were used for obtaining public input in person at the last Erie Farmers Market and the Tails to Ales event. In addition to the in person events an outreach plan was implemented to obtain public input from those that were unable to attend the open house. Based on public input and staff comments, a preferred conceptual plan was created.
The Erie Lagoon Conversion to Water Quality Pond Pre-Design Report summarizes the predesign efforts and is presented to allow the Board the opportunity to input prior to beginning preliminary and final design.
