FISCAL SUMMARY:
Water tap and water dedication fees are a critical source of revenue to fund the costs of new infrastructure and water resources needed to support new development and fairly apportion those costs to new development.

POLICY ISSUES:
This agenda item does not have direct policy issues; however, the Dec. 3 roundtable discussion will have policy issues related to updating the Town's water tap and dedication fee structure and ordinance.

Approve the attached resolution naming two Councilmembers to represent the Town Council at the Water Tap and Dedication Fee Roundtable discussion to be held on Dec. 3, 2024.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the Oct. 22, 2024 regular Town Council meeting, the Council directed staff to organize a roundtable session to discuss the water tap and dedication fee structure and proposed increase. Based on discussions with a facilitator who is experienced in supporting such discussions, staff recommends the participants at the session include key staff, representatives from Council, homebuilders, and other stakeholders. This roundtable study session has been scheduled for Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Municipal Court Room at the Erie Police Department.

After the discussion of who will attend the roundtable, approval of the attached resolution will formally appoint two Councilmembers to represent the entire Council at the roundtable.
