SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Filly Lake is the source for the well the Town is looking to acquire as part of Agenda Item 19-577, which the Board approved at the September 22 meeting. Part of that agreement requires a diligence period for proving production of this well. The Town solicited a sole-source bid from Leonard Rice Engineering (LRE) to oversee and coordinate this testing due to the short time frame, LRE's intimate knowledge of the overall hydrology of the area due to their support of the Town's efforts to develop a wellfield on Boulder Creek, and their knowledge of the legal aspects of the Town's efforts in this area.

LRE Water will design and implement a system test to evaluate the feasibility of sustaining a continuous 450 GPM pumping rate under seasonally variable conditions. To the extent possible, they will use existing infrastructure and will deploy automated data collection devices to reduce costs. We are attempting to coordinate a test under relatively wet conditions in October 2020, while the property owner is irrigating an upgradient field with water from the Boulder and Weld County Ditch system.
