SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Beginning March 1, 2018 through April 1, 2018, weather permitting, 111th Street will be closed between Erie Parkway and Dickens Street. The closure is for the construction of a new crossing of the Leyner Cottonwood Ditch on 111th Street as part of the Flatiron Meadows Subdivision. Later this year the developer will be reconstructing 111th Street as a paved two lane collector road. The detour route will be Erie Parkway to the north, Highway 287 to the west, and Arapahoe Road to the south. The new Flatiron Meadows Boulevard is scheduled to open during the closure and will also become a detour route.
In order to complete the work safely and effectively, the contractor believes closures of the roadway is required. Staff has reviewed their closure request and agrees that the closure is the most efficient, and more importantly, safest approach.
