SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In 2020, an engineering consultant was hired to provide design services for two roundabout locations on County Line Road. The northern roundabout location was identified at County Line and Maxwell Avenue and, the South Roundabout was identified at County Line and Austin Avenue. The purpose/need for the south roundabout is intended to:
* Facilitate a five-leg intersection
* Provide a traffic calming measure from a straight arterial section entering Erie
* Create an entry gateway into the downtown area.
In 2022, a second engineering consultant firm was hired to provide design services for the County Line Road sections between Austin Avenue and Evans Street (excluding the roundabout intersections).
