POLICY ISSUES:

Council must approve contract amendments to contracts over $100,000. This amendment is to expend budgeted funds for additional modular office space at LAWSC.

SUMMARY/KEY POINTS

                     The cost of the original GSA meets the threshold that requires Council approval.

                     The location of the modular building changed within the Leon A. Wurl Service Center (LAWSC) site adding distance between the modular building and the LAWSC building, requiring a bathroom to be added to the modular building.

                     The added square footage for the modular accommodates additional staff, which helps with the LAWSC building optimization effort.

 

BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Public Works and Parks and Open Space Division staff, in partnership with Town leadership and a consultant, completed a facility assessment in 2024 to address the overcrowding at LAWSC. The assessment produced several immediate recommendations to optimize building, including adding modular office space.

 

In 2024, Council approved a General Services Agreement with Eagle Creek Modular solutions for the design, fabrication, and installation of a modular office building.

The Amendment now before the Council adds square footage to the modular building for a bathroom and additional workstations.
