An amendment adding the definition of a Peace Officer. This will allow non-sworn personnel to issue a summons and complaint into the Municipal Court for any civil, or non-criminal violation.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The Town of Erie Municipal Code did not include authority for non-sworn personnel to issue Municipal summons and complaints for minor civil or non-criminal violations. This amendment allows Code Officers and other Town employees, as designated, to fully address these types of complaints.
