SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the June 14, 2016 Board of Trustees Meeting a contract for the Erie Transportation Plan was awarded to Felsburg Holt Ullevig (FHU). The Erie Transportation Plan was presented at the January 10, 2017 Board of Trustees Meeting to receive public comments prior to finalizing the plan. The Erie Transportation Plan is attached.
The Erie Transportation Plan addresses all transportation modes and is intended to accommodate projected growth through 2040. The vision incorporated into the plan is for a safe, efficient, and innovative transportation system that reduces neighborhood isolation and promotes a sense of community by connecting all areas of town, accommodates various modes of public and private transit, and facilitates travel to regional centers
Recommended transportation improvements for both development and capital improvement projects are presented in the plan, along with cost estimates for budgeting the improvements.
