Staff recommend adopting the resolution approving the Professional Services Contract Brothers Redevelopment, Inc. for administration of the Community Development Block Grant Home Repair Program.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town received a grant of $167,000 from Weld County to create a new Town of Erie Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Home Repair Program. This program is specifically targeted at low-to-moderate income households (80% of the Area Median Income and below) living in manufactured housing in Old Town Erie. $150,000 will go toward home repairs with the remainder going to administrative costs.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a type of funding from the federal government (HUD) to support community development initiatives at the local level. The primary focus of CDBG funds is to assist the Town in making improvements to low/moderate income neighborhoods. This work can include housing rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements, economic development initiatives, and public services to underserved communities.
