SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

To streamline the liquor license application process for Business Entertainment Associations, staff recommends repealing Section 4-8-13 of the Erie Municipal Code in its entirety and reenacting it with the attached ordinance that clarifies procedures for approval of an application. The ordinance will allow administrative approval for renewal applications of Business Entertainment Districts as long as there have been no violations in the preceding year. This will ensure applicants experience a more efficient process when renewing.
