POLICY ISSUES:

On April 28, 2026, the Town Council adopted the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) with local amendments, which became effective on May 24, 2026. Following adoption, staff identified several minor administrative errors within the ordinance, including incorrect code references, code sections that were not arranged in the intended numerical order, and other non-substantive editorial corrections.

Recommendation

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance to ensure the Town's adopted code accurately reflects Council's original intent and provides clear direction for code administration and enforcement.

Body

SUMMARY/KEY POINTS

The proposed ordinance amends the previously adopted ordinance to correct these clerical and formatting issues. The revisions are administrative in nature and are intended to improve clarity, organization, and accuracy of the adopted code provisions. The proposed corrections do not alter the policy direction established by Town Council, create new requirements, modify existing technical standards, or change the substantive effect of the adopted energy code or local amendments.
