SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The Town’s attorney has proposed an amendment to the UDC that adds a clarifying sentence to Section 10.6.12.F.2 Flashing or Moving Signs. The UDC amendment adds the timeframe in which a sign can change copy or color as 4 hours. This is the timeframe that the Planning division has used for approval of existing signs.

The new sentence states “A sign that changes copy or color no more than once every four (4) hours shall not be considered a flashing or moving sign.
