End
The 2018 Capital Budget includes funds to install an exterior M-series Mitsubishi mini split HVAC unit on the northern end of Town Hall upstairs. Funding for this project was allocated in 2018 and will be requested to be rolled over to the 2019 budget. The reason for this install is due to inadequacies in the current HVAC system which has caused significant repair costs and damage to the existing system. The entire HVAC system was planned to be upgraded along with a Town Hall expansion, and had been ‘band aided” up until last summer. Adding this system to the northern wing of Town Hall will ensure efficient heating and cooling to that area and reduce demand on the existing system, allowing it to perform better as well as protect equipment currently in place.
Project Budget Summary
Contract $54,273.00
Contingency $ 3,727.00
Total $58,000.00
Staff obtained competing bids for this work and recommends awarding the contract to Haynes Mechanical. Haynes Mechanical has previously completed work for the Town of Erie and currently has the contract for annual preventative maintenance.
