Recommendation

Approve resolution authorizing a contract with Wenk Associates to complete a master plan and construction documents for Coal Creek Park and Linear Trail Corridor and authorize the Town Administrator to sign said contract.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

On December 13, 2016 the Board of Trustees passed Resolution 16-195 accepting the Downtown Redevelopment Framework Plan and directing Town staff to implement this plan. The redevelopment plan included a conceptual design for Coal Creek Park and in the 2017 budget the Board of Trustees approved $200,000 in the Parks Improvement Impact Fund to complete a master plan redesign for Coal Creek Park.

In order to complete this and other identified master planning tasks, on January 16, 2017 staff issued a request for qualifications for landscape architectural firms. Proposals were accepted through February 3, 2017 with fifteen firms submitting proposals. The following five firms were chosen to interview with Town staff:

* Robert Peccia & Associates
* Wenk Associates
* DHM Design
