SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

Annually departments analyze their various fees to determine if they are still meeting the goals of each one. Departmental staff members recommend changing the following fees for 2025:

1.                     Addition of Recreational Marijuana Fees, as adopted by voters on Nov. 5, 2024

2.                     Addition of Fees for Public Records - Various%

3.                     Reduction in Collection Fee Due to Delinquent Court Payment - Reduced to 18% of total due

4.                     No longer issuing Outstanding Judgment Warrant

5.                     New Deferred Prosecution Fee - $50.00

6.                     New Community Service Fee - $25.00

7.                     New Returned Check Fee - $25.00

8.                     Fence Inspection Fees Increase - Based on Valuation Table

9.                     Irrigation System Reinspection Fees Increase - $75 per hour, 1 hour minimum

These fees reflect the Town's cost of providing service. They do not generate significant revenue. For example, the Reinspection fees will generate approximately $12,000 in 2024. This is less than 2023, which totaled approximately $16,000.
