STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

Approve the Resolution to award said contract, authorize the appropriate Town officer to execute said contract, authorize Staff to expend contracted funds and contingency funds.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The Town Hall roof suffered damage in recent hail storms. An inspection and assessment was completed and the Town received a check from the insurance company for to complete replacement. Staff prepared a bid packet to remove and replace entire existing roof at Town Hall (645 Holbrook Street) with same or equivalent asphalt shingles and materials. Materials include, but not limited to, gutters, down spouts, vents, flashing, etc.

 

The invitation to bid was posted on the Town’s website on September 6, 2018. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and walk thru was held on September 13, 2018. The following bids were received on September 27, 2018:

The low bidder is Roof Evolution, LLC.  Roof Evolution is locally owned and operated out of Denver and has a crew with a combined over 13 years of experience in residential and commercial roofing.  

 

Staff is recommending awarding the construction contract for the Town Hall Roof Replacement to Roof Evolution, LLC in the amount of $43,978.00 with a contingency of $8,722 for any unforeseen items.
