SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Annual Fall Clean-Up: September 14th
The Town of Erie Department of Public Works is partnering with a variety of vendors during the 14th Annual Town of Erie Fall Clean-Up. Residents will have access to donate household items, some electronics, recycle metal items, papers for shredding and participate in a medication take-back program, and dispose of unwanted items at the Front Range Landfill.
NEW: Service Center hours changed to 7am - 2pm. TV recycling available

DROP OFF UNWANTED ITEMS & YARD WASTE AT FRONT RANGE LANDFILL
The Front Range Landfill, located at 1830 Weld County Road 5 in Erie, will accept large household items and yard waste. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents may dispose of any large household items as well as tree limbs or other yard waste FREE OF CHARGE. LIMIT ONE load per residence. Residents must show either a Town of Erie water bill or driver’s license with an Erie address as proof of residency. Reminder, as of July 1, 2013, electronic disposal is no longer allowed through trash and landfill services. Please note the following:
• All loads must be covered
• All load’s must be level with bed of the Truck and/or Trailer
• Construction materials such as roofing shingles, concrete, and framing materials could be subject to charges
• Items that will not be accepted include hazardous materials such as refrigerators, car batteries, tires, and paint.
DONATE USED HOME SUPPLIES TO ARC
ARC Thrift Stores will have a collection center set up at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All donations must be clean and in working order. Items with the following conditions will not be accepted. Note all smaller items must be in a bag (trash bags are acceptable) or box to be accepted.
Excessively worn upholstery (ripped/torn/excessive fading)
Tears and Stains immediately visible
Must be pest free, no soiled pet stains, pet hair
Incomplete Items (missing cushions etc.)
Excessively worn, scratched, dented, broken or damaged items
Water or other weather related warping.
Items in need of excessive repair.
Incomplete items (missing drawers, hardware, legs, etc.)
Disassembled items missing hardware/instructions.

DONATE USED COMPUTER RELATED ELECTRONICS TO GOODWILL
3R Technology will have a collection center set up at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All donations must be clean and in working order. Refer to the Town’s website for a list of accepted items.
METAL-TYPE NON-WORKING ITEMS
The Town of Erie’s Public Works Department will also have a disposal of metal-type non-working items at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Items accepted include:

DOCUMENT SHREDDING
The Town of Erie’s Public Works Department is collaborating with Shred It to provide free document shredding service of outdated files or confidential paperwork at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m (or until the truck is full, whichever comes first). A limit of two banker box sized loads per resident.
MEDICATION TAKE-BACK PROGRAM
The Town of Erie’s Public Works Department is collaborating with the TakeAway Medication Recovery System by providing 100 free envelopes (first come, first served) for mailing unused and unwanted household medications. These envelopes are available at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while supplies last. Residents who are unable to pick-up a free envelope on at the event may purchase them at the Police Station anytime during normal business hours for fee per envelope. Year Round Recycling Opportunities
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
The Town of Erie contracts with Boulder County and Weld County to provide our citizens a place to dispose of household hazardous waste. Erie residents, regardless of which county they live in, can use both facilities. RECYCLING CENTER
The Town of Erie Department of Public Works maintains a Recycling Center which accepts Commingled Containers and Mixed Paper. The Recycling Center is located at 1000 Briggs Street and is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
