SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
As part of the Nine Mile Global Settlement IGA, the City of Lafayette and the Town are parties to an intergovernmental agreement, dated June 4, 2019, regarding the planning for and regulating land uses in certain areas surrounding their respective jurisdictions, sharing revenue, and resolving formal legal proceedings dealing with their respective authority to regulate specified development activities.
As part of the Global Settlement IGA, the Parties agreed to cooperate with one another to disconnect a portion of East County Line Road, a public right-of-way currently within Erie’s jurisdictional boundaries, and to annex that portion of East County Line Road to Lafayette. As indicated in the Ordinance title, the right-of-way to be vacated by the Town is located at the intersection of Baseline Road (also known as State Highway 7) and East County Line Road, south of where Parkdale’s new Monroe Street/Coal Creek Boulevard intersects County Line Road, and east of where Coal Creek Boulevard intersects Baseline/SH7.
This ordinance is the last step in effecting that transfer.
