SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

This project is the first step to making improvements to the JUMP route, a service provided by the Regional Transportation District (RTD). The project will design ADA compliant bus stops and improve existing bus stops to be ADA compliant, 24 in total. The project will include the engineering designs of bus stops, boarding platforms, sidewalk connections, and bus pads. The project will also include adding bus stop amenities such as shelters, trash cans, benches, and schedule boards.

Budget for this project was approved in 2024, but an agreement was not completed in time due to staff workload and competing project timelines, including assisting RTD staff to put the RTD annexation question before voters in the November 2024 election. Public Works will request a rollover of the 2024 appropriation at 1st supplemental to continue and complete the design work in 2025.
