SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

In 2020, the Town entered into a services agreement with Security Central Inc. for security system monitoring services. This agreement’s term had a renewal option for up to four additional 12-month terms and the agreement was renewed each year, with the final renewal option ending in 2024. The 2025 operating budget includes funds for security monitoring services at various Town-owned facilities. Security system items such as security cameras, door access controls, fire alarms, and security gates have been installed throughout Town-owned facilities. Security monitoring service is used with these existing facilities, new installations, and upgrades.

As future facilities come online, staff expects additional technologies and monitoring systems to be included as well as enhancements to current systems. Staff worked with Security Central to develop a new agreement that lists the cost of each service to have consistency in the services and devices offered for both existing and future needs.

The cost as recommended above includes the annual cost for the complete year with the option to renew the agreement for four additional 12-month terms. The proposed renewal occurs when both the Town and Contractor/ Vendor agree, the increased price is no more than 2% of the previous year, or Consumer Price index at the time of renewal whichever is higher, and the contractor performs work satisfactorily.
