SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The Grants to Communities Program provides funding to local non-profit organizations to support projects, programs, and events that benefit Erie and its residents. Information on the program is available on the Grants to Communities <https://www.erieco.gov/974/Grants> page of the Town’s website.

Applications for the 2025 funding cycle opened on Sept. 1, 2024, and closed on Nov. 30, 2024. We received a total of 20 applications from 16 different organizations for a total of $105,936 in requested funds. Of the requests, $47,716 is to support events and $58,220 is to support services.

A staff review team from Administration, Communications & Community Engagement, Information Technology, Economic Development and Parks & Recreation reviewed and discussed all applications and recommends funding the following grant applications and amounts. Please note that in some cases, the award amounts do not represent the full funding request. However, based on the number of applications and the award criteria, staff believe this list reflects fair and equitable funding. (Attached to this report is the full listing of all applicants and their requests.)
