SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Erie Parkway Road Closure.
As part of the Erie Parkway Bridge Project, the existing asphalt on Erie Parkway between the west end of the bridge improvements to the east side of the Briggs Street and Erie Parkway intersection will be milled and overlaid with a new top layer of asphalt.
To safely mill the existing asphalt between the bridge and Briggs Street intersection Erie Parkway will be closed between Briggs Street and Bonanza Dr./Colliers Boulevard beginning at 9:00 pm Sunday night September 22 and reopen by 6:00 am Monday morning September 23.
Vehicles traveling west will be routed north on Colliers Boulevard to WCR 1.5 then west/southwest on WCR 1.5 to Briggs Street. Vehicles traveling east will be routed north on Briggs Street to WCR 1.5 then south on Colliers Boulevard.
The Town will send out a notification and the contractor will install detour signs notifying drivers of the closure.
Montgomery Drive Road Closure.
The top layer of asphalt at the Montgomery Drive intersection with Erie Parkway will require approximately a two hour closure for the asphalt to be installed and cool prior to traffic being able to drive on the new asphalt. The limited closure will be between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm the week of September 23.
Local traffic will be diverted south on Montgomery to the roundabout at the intersection of Montgomery Drive, Lehigh Circle and Bonanza Drive. At the roundabout all vehicles wanting to reach Erie Parkway will take Bonanza Drive east, then continue north on Bonanza Drive to the signalized intersection at Erie Parkway.
Colliers Boulevard and Parkway Road Closure.
Final road acceptance repairs are required mainly along Colliers Boulevard and a small segment of Colliers Parkway. Repairs comprise of concrete curb and gutter replacement and final road asphalt top lift and repair. The road work will be performed in three phases requiring the road segment during each phase to be completely closed. Work is planned to start on September 16 and is anticipated to last for four weeks for all three phases. Repair work will be stopped during the Erie Parkway road closure from September 22-23 to ensure no conflict with their detour route along Colliers Boulevard.
Full detour signage will be provided for each closure.
