SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
On May 9, 2023, the Town of Erie was hit by a severe hailstorm consisting of heavy rains and hail stones greater than 2 inches in diameter. With this storm, the roof for the Leon A. Wurl Service Center was damaged. This damage was included in the Town’s initial insurance claim with the Town’s insurance carrier (CIRSA) and the Town received payment from CIRSA to complete this repair.
On Jan. 26, 2024, Town staff requested proposals for the roof replacement using a formal bid process via bids@erieco.gov <mailto:bids@erieco.gov>. Staff then conducted a mandatory pre-bid conference on Feb. 9, 2024. The Town received four complete bids on March 8, 2024, and selected B&M Roofing as the low bidder on March 25, 2024. Town staff believe that B&M Roofing is qualified to complete this project and provides the best warranty option for the Town of Erie.
