SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
On May 9, 2023, the Town of Erie was hit by a severe hailstorm consisting of heavy rains and hail stones greater than 2 inches in diameter. With this storm, the rooftop PV solar array for the Leon A. Wurl Service Center was damaged. This damage was included in the Town’s initial insurance claim with the Town’s insurance carrier (CIRSA) and the Town received payment from CIRSA to complete this repair.
On Jan. 26, 2024, Staff requested proposals for the PV solar array replacement using bids@erieco.gov <mailto:bids@erieco.gov>. Staff then conducted a mandatory pre-bid conference on Feb. 9, 2024. The Town received two complete bids on March 8, 2024, and selected Namaste Solar as the most qualified bidder on March 22, 2024.
