SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
On April 4, at their 2024 Annual “IN THE GAME” Downtown Event in Durango, Downtown Colorado Inc. (DCI) presented annual recognition in six areas including awards for Partnership, Place, Plans, Projects, Pop Up Innovation and Person - Downtowner of the Year. The Colorado Downtown Excellence Awards are committed to recognizing excellence in the most current and impactful areas of achievement. Award winners are chosen for demonstrating creativity in the face of challenges, unlikely and enduring partnerships, and dedication to the community to further downtown initiatives.
This year, DCI presented the Town of Erie with the 2024 Downtown Excellence Award for Best Partnerships in a Small Community, recognizing the “Erie Town Center Master Plan, Crafting Place and Experience in a Small Town”, in partnership with the Erie Four Corners development at Erie Town Center.
David Waldner of Erie Four Corners will attend the May 14 meeting to present this award to the Town Council.
