POLICY ISSUES:
This Code change will clarify the procedure for updating charges for Court Costs so it is controlled by the Town Council through the Resolution the Council adopts each year regarding fees and charges. This will also improve transparency by having all the Town’s fees and charges accessible in one location on the Town’s website.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The Town’s fee schedule is updated each year and adopted by Town Council by resolution, pursuant to Erie Municipal Code 2-10-1. Currently, Municipal Court costs and fees are listed in Code 2-10-1, as well as Code 1-4-8.
Removing the list of Municipal Court costs and fees from Code 1-4-8 will allow Municipal Court staff to efficiently make updates through the Town’s annual fee resolution. This will also improve the community’s access to all Town costs and fees in one location.
