SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
On Nov. 7, 2023, the registered electors of the Town of Erie approved the Town of Erie Home Rule Charter which in Article 6.03 sets forth the adoption procedure for ordinances and in 6.03(5) specifically requires the method of official publication of ordinances be set by ordinance. Approving this Ordinance ensures compliance with the Home Rule Charter section referenced above.
