SUBJECT:
Title
A Proclamation in Support of National Safety Month
Body
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources and Safety Committee
PRESENTER: Lori Wisner, Risk Manager
Emily Baer, Councilor
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
In 1996, the National Safety Council established June as National Safety Month, aiming to increase awareness of the leading safety and health risks and ultimately decrease the number of unintentional injuries and deaths in the United States.
To bring attention to this issue and protect safety and health, the National Safety Council has designated June as National Safety Month. The Town of Erie is joining in the effort to increase awareness regarding the impact that unintentional injuries can pose by proclaiming June as National Safety Month in Erie.
The Town of Erie’s Safety Committee focuses on these objectives all year but recognizes and supports the initiative for June to increase awareness of safety and decrease injuries.
