The annual Work Plan is intended to ensure the Town is focused on and devoting adequate resources to the highest priority issues while also maintaining high-quality day-to-day services.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
Through the annual budget process the Town Council considers all the issues confronting the Town and adopts an annual Work Plan to prioritize effort, set reasonable expectations, allocate Council meeting time to consider issues, and help ensure the Council and staff stay focused on the Council’s top priorities.
The 2024 Work Plan reflects 22 major projects and the departments working collaboratively on each of those projects. The Work Plan also includes a project milestone calendar to show when staff expects to achieve the significant milestone steps for each project. Finally, the Work Plan also shows the day-to-day tasks each department also manages and the approximate proportion of departmental staff resources devoted to those day-to-day tasks.
This presentation is intentionally high-level for the Council and the public. Staff is also refining a more detailed version of the Work Plan we use for management oversight, project tracking, and staff capacity/resource allocation.
