SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
As the Town of Erie strives to address the need for affordable housing, municipal staff are requesting the Town Council to adopt the February 2023 Housing Needs Assessment and Affordable Housing Strategy as a formal policy document. This document will include an addendum to the Affordably Housing Strategy that provides a gap analysis and more narrowly defines need by housing type and household income.
In advance of presenting the updated document for adoption to the Town Council, staff are requesting the Planning Commission become familiar with the Affordable Housing Strategy and support this recommendation to Town Council.
